Collection of six tales issued bimonthly during 1939 for members of The Book Club of California. Each of the booklets was printed by a different Pacific Coast printer and limited to 650 copies. This complete six-volume collection includes the following works: 1.) The Gentleman in the Barrel by Chester Bailey Fernald; 2.) The Case of Summerfield by W.H. Rhodes; 3.) Orso by Henry Sienkiewicz; 4.) The Trumpet Comes to Pickeye! by Joseph T. Goodman; The Ape and the Idiot by W.C. Morrow; and 6.) My Day in the Wilderness by Helen Hunt Jackson. Four of the six issues include the accompanying letter from the Club. A few of the issues show minor wear to edges of wraps. Issues' pages remain clean and unmarked. All said, a handsome set.
