London: David Bogue, 1848. Catalogue of one of the premier auctions of the 19th century. In 1848 the 2nd Duke of Buckingham and Chandos was forced into auctioning Stowe's contents. The resulting sale lasted for 40 days in August and September and included among other things, the Chandos portrait of Shakespeare. Very Good. Item #8474
